Kuala Lumpur: The results of the PKR divisional elections have been confirmed and validated by the Central Leadership Council (MPP), according to party secretary-general Dr Fuziah Salleh.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Dr Fuziah stated that the Central Leadership Council (MPP), which convened yesterday, expressed satisfaction with the presentation by the Party Election Committee and an international digital auditing firm on the election results for committee members, as well as the party’s women’s wing, Wanita PKR, and youth wing, Angkatan Muda Keadilan (AMK), across all 220 divisions nationwide.
The final results of the 2025 divisional elections are set to be available starting May 5, 2025, at the party’s official results website. Fuziah also highlighted that the meeting confirmed key dates for the 2024 and 2025 Annual Congress, scheduled from May 23 to 25 at the Persada International Convention Centre in Johor Bahru. Approximately 10,000 delegates are expected to attend and vote in person for MPP memb
ers, while over 20,000 delegates will cast their votes online.
Fuziah explained that the representation system, based on proportionate representation, allows losing division candidates to send delegates to the congress based on their vote percentage in the recent election. This system aims to enhance the democratic process by ensuring that both winners and losers have a stake in the congress.
She also mentioned that a nationwide pre-congress tour would be launched to provide delegates with comprehensive information in preparation for the congress. The party headquarters will facilitate a platform during the tour for all MPP candidates to interact with delegates and introduce themselves to party members.
Meanwhile, PKR Central Election Committee (JPP) chairman Datuk Seri Dr Zaliha Mustafa reported that an audit by an international firm confirmed the strong performance and robust security of the e-voting system, which utilizes blockchain technology. The system effectively managed voter identity verification,
encrypted ballot transmission, and secure data storage, with no evidence of data loss or tampering detected.
Dr Zaliha further stated that the audit found no fraud or irregularities throughout the voting process. Additionally, the list of regular and additional delegates for all divisions will soon be finalized and available for checking online. Nominations for central-level positions will open online on May 8 and 9, with central-level voting scheduled during the National Congress on May 24. Physical voting is designated for divisional committee-level delegates, while online voting applies to regular and additional delegates.
