Kuala lumpur: Malaysia’s pineapple industry has recorded strong growth, with exports rising more than 100 per cent in the past six months, said Agriculture and Food Security Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu. He reported that exports increased from 800 to 1,727 containers as of October 2024.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, this achievement demonstrates the agricultural sector’s potential, with the pineapple industry positioned to generate substantial income for farmers. Mohamad Sabu expressed confidence that pineapple exports will continue to grow in 2025, attributing this to the ongoing commitment of farmers, agencies, and industry players.
He encouraged more Malaysians, particularly youths, to engage in modern farming practices. This approach not only enhances farmers’ income but also contributes to strengthening the nation’s food security.
