PILGRIMS SAFETY SOP IN HOLY LAND BASED ON ISO 9001: 2015 HAJJ SERVICES

MAKKAH: The standard operating procedure (SOP) provided by the Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) related to the safety aspect of pilgrims while in the holy land is based on the ISO 9001: 2015 management system for hajj services.

TH Makkah Headquarters’ Maktab operations director Khairoddin Ahmad said this is a procedure that officers must follow to deal with any possible unforeseen events such as the incident of the crane falling and the stampede in Mina which occurred before.

He said the same management system will also be used by TH during Masyair’s operation ahead of the Wukuf Day on June 15.

‘This includes preparations to take the pilgrims to Arafah, Muzdalifah, Mina and return safely to the accommodation in Makkah.

‘However, for this task, we have good commitment and collaboration from Masyair level units, Holy Land Hajj Facilitators (PIHTAS) and other units.

‘When there is a collaboration between us and other units where everything will be concentrated in Masyair, we will have the strength of 106 members fr
om the Maktab operational level including PIHTAS in addition to teams from Jeddah and Madinah who will help in terms of security and movement of the pilgrims,’ he said.

In the meantime, Khairoddin said that there are 12 maktab covering 18 accommodation buildings in Makkah with each maktab housing 3,000 pilgrims.

He added that managers are among the people who are responsible for ensuring the comfort of the pilgrims before they arrive by ensuring that all requirements meet the set standards.
