Kuala lumpur: The Pakatan Harapan (PH) Presidential Council, in a meeting today, resolved to prioritize several institutional reforms, emphasizing a more robust pursuit in the near future, as stated by PH Communications Director Datuk Fahmi Fadzil. The meeting, chaired by PH Chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, also reviewed the outcomes of the recent Sabah state election.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the 17th Sabah state election, held on November 29, saw PH candidate Datuk Jamawi Ja’afar winning the Melalap seat with a majority of 525 votes, securing a total of 5,064 votes against seven other candidates. This was the only seat won by the coalition in the election.
Fahmi highlighted that the Presidential Council, under Anwar’s leadership, explored issues related to government governance and developments impacting the people’s economy. Discussions also focused on implementing the coalition’s manifesto and institutional reforms over the next three years of governance.
Furthermore, Fahmi announced that a PH Convention is slated for the first quarter of 2026, aimed at setting the priority focus for reform efforts and outlining the country’s direction for the subsequent two years.
