Putrajaya: In a significant declaration, the PH Presidential Council has reiterated its unwavering stance that no individual is beyond the reach of the law, following recent developments concerning former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak. The council emphasized its support for Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, alongside advice from the Attorney General and the Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Federal Territories) to the Federal Territories Pardons Board.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the council's statement reinforced that anyone found guilty of a crime must fulfill their sentence as per legal provisions outlined in the Federal Constitution. The Presidential Council further underscored its dedication to eradicating corruption, promoting the Reform agenda, and purging the nation of abuse and misconduct.

This declaration follows the Federal Territories Pardons Board's decision to grant a conditional pardon to Najib. The Presidential Council reportedly convened at the Perdana Putra Building in Putrajaya to deliberate on these developments. The meeting, chaired by Anwar and attended by key coalition figures, lasted over two hours.

Notable attendees included Parti Amanah Negara President Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu, DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke, and PH secretary-general Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail. The conditional pardon, granted by Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim, allows Najib to serve the remainder of his sentence under house arrest until August 23, 2028, contingent upon a RM50 million fine.

The Legal Affairs Division of the Prime Minister's Department confirmed that this decision was reached during the 64th Meeting of the Pardons Board for the Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur, Labuan, and Putrajaya, held at Istana Negara.
