Kota kinabalu: Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidates for the 17th Sabah State Election are contesting on the basis of fulfilling promises and ensuring continuity of momentum built on the cooperation between the federal government and the Sabah government.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, PKR deputy president Nurul Izzah Anwar emphasized that this approach is more meaningful than making new promises, as voters have the right to assess PH’s capability based on actions taken and results delivered. “It is important that we do not talk about offering the moon and the stars or the entire universe, but instead focus on concrete realisation,” she stated during the Ziarah Tunai Janji programme in Kampung Dambai, Inanam, alongside PH candidate for the Inanam state seat, Datuk Peto Galim.
Nurul Izzah, who also serves as PKR joint election director, highlighted PH’s track record, noting its swift response to assist fire victims in the village, including providing a new housing site and efforts to gazette Kampung Kionsom as a traditional village. She elaborated on the challenges faced in providing a housing site to replace homes destroyed by fire and appreciated Datuk Peto’s efforts to gazette Kampung Kionsom. She stressed the importance of fulfilling promises while paving the way for the next phase in realizing the hopes of the people of Sabah.
Additionally, Nurul Izzah urged voters to scrutinize and compare the performance records of all parties that have governed Sabah, ensuring their choice in the election is based on proven achievements rather than mere rhetoric. In the ongoing state polls, Peto is contesting a 13-cornered fight to defend the Inanam seat, which falls under the Sepanggar parliamentary constituency. Polling is set for November 29, with early voting on November 25.
