Kuala Lumpur: through Malaysia Petroleum Management (MPM), has signed 11 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) to strengthen Malaysia’s oil and gas services and equipment (OGSE) sector through two key initiatives, namely Yard Transformation and Productivity Enhancement, and Skilled Trade Champion. The agreements leverage collaboration with industry players to enhance the performance of fabrication yards through modernisation and to cultivate a highly skilled local workforce, ultimately positioning Malaysia to meet the evolving demands of the sector.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, these initiatives are part of PETRONAS’s broader strategy to boost the efficiency and productivity of the OGSE sector in Malaysia. By focusing on modernisation and skills development, the collaborations aim to ensure that the sector remains competitive and capable of meeting future challenges. The Yard Transformation and Productivity Enhancement initiative seeks to modernise fabrication yards, which are crucial for the construction and maintenance of oil and gas facilities. Meanwhile, the Skilled Trade Champion initiative is designed to foster a well-trained local workforce that can support the industry’s growth.
The signing of the MoUs marks a significant step in PETRONAS’s efforts to drive progress in the OGSE sector by working closely with key industry stakeholders.
