Kangar: Ramadan bazaar traders in Perlis have shown encouraging compliance with price tag regulations while offering food at reasonable prices, according to ongoing inspections by the authorities.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, State Agriculture, Plantation and Consumer Committee chairman Razali Saad stated that surprise inspections conducted in collaboration with the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) Perlis found that traders were displaying price tags clearly as required.
Razali emphasized the importance of adherence to regulations, stating, “It is crucial for Ramadan bazaar traders to adhere to the set regulations. We hope all traders will continue to comply and offer fair prices to consumers.”
He further clarified that the inspections are not meant to intimidate traders but to remind them of their responsibility to ensure transparency and fairness in pricing. This statement was made to reporters after a price survey at the Kangar Ramadan Bazaar yesterday evening.
Regarding the supply and pricing of coconut milk-based foods, Razali mentioned that there have been no significant price increases detected so far. The supply of coconut milk in Perlis remains stable, thanks to consistent supplies from outside the state provided by the Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (FAMA) Perlis.
Razali also noted, “At the Kangar Ramadan Bazaar, we found that food prices are reasonable and not excessive. Many dishes were sold out early, indicating that the prices offered meet customer demand.”
