Perlis Raja Muda Joins 1,800 Participants Of Eco Fun Run At Bukit Lagi

Kangar: The Raja Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail, today participated in the seven-kilometre Eco Fun Run in the Bukit Lagi geosite area here in conjunction with the Healthy Carnival for All. Raja Puan Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Dr Hajah Lailatul Shahreen Akashah Khalil, and their son Syed Sirajuddin Areeb Putra Al-Haj Jamalullail also joined the fun run to engage with the people, which saw some 1,800 participants in total. Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad also participated in the run.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the objective of the leisure run is to promote healthy and relaxing activities with family and friends and to foster community awareness of environmental conservation and cleanliness. The carnival was held in conjunction with the Silver Jubilee celebration of the reign of the Raja of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Jamalullail, focusing on community health through the MADANI Afiat initiative and the National Agenda for a Healthy Malaysia (ANMS), which are the pillars of increasing health literacy and empowering the country’s prosperous community.

“It is also an alternative to reach out and engage with the community directly, increase awareness of healthcare to prevent non-communicable diseases, and is an important platform to instil awareness on maintaining physical and mental health, as well as providing practical guidance to the community,” said the MOH. The ministry stated that such programmes support the four pillars of ANMS and align with Perlis’ health agenda of ‘Perlis Hebat, Sihat Milik Semua’.

The four pillars are strengthening the promotion of healthy living, strengthening health promotion services, empowering personal health and strengthening environmental cleanliness. “Besides exhibition booths involving various government agencies, interesting activities were also provided throughout the two-day carnival, such as the Clean Premises Walkabout, the Smoke-Free initiative (BeBAs), the launch of the state-level Ops Selamat Paru-Paru (Ops Selamat PaPa) and the MADANI Afiat programme,” according to the MOH.

The MOH and Perlis Health Department (JKN) reaffirmed their commitment to ensure that health services reached everyone, aligning with the MADANI values of Sustainability, Wellbeing, and Compassion. The carnival, which kicked off yesterday, was organised by Perlis JKN in collaboration with Yayasan Amal Tengku Hajah Budriah Perlis and the state government.
