Kuala Lumpur: The Social Security Organisation (Perkeso) and Carsome have announced the launch of three initiatives designed to address unemployment issues in Malaysia. The initiatives, titled “My First Car,” the Work Insurance System (SIP) Contributor Campaign, and the SIP Skill Raising programme, focus on bridging the mobility and skill gaps faced by jobseekers.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Perkeso and Carsome released a joint statement detailing the objectives of each initiative. The “My First Car” programme aims to assist graduates registered with MYFutureJobs in purchasing their first vehicle. Additionally, the SIP campaign offers a RM3,000 car discount and a trade-in bonus for SIP recipients.
The SIP Skill Raising programme will be implemented through Carsome Academy, providing automotive training and work placements. This initiative is intended to ensure that individuals gain relevant skills to meet the demands of the job market.
Perkeso’s group chief executive officer, Datuk Seri Dr Mohammed Azman Aziz Mohammed, emphasized the partnership’s commitment to facilitating meaningful employment opportunities for Malaysians. He noted that the collaboration of Perkeso’s social support with Carsome’s industry expertise is anticipated to establish a sustainable pathway for securing jobs and fostering long-term career development.
Carsome Academy CEO Teoh Jiun Ee highlighted that the partnership is expected to cultivate new talent for the automotive sector. This initiative will assist individuals in acquiring the skills necessary to thrive in the rapidly evolving industry.
