Kota kinabalu: Perikatan Nasional (PN) announced its intention to contest 41 out of 73 state seats in the upcoming 17th Sabah state election on November 29. The announcement was made by PN chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin during a candidate unveiling ceremony at ITCC.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the slate includes 33 candidates from Bersatu, five from PAS, and three from Gerakan. The candidates are as follows: Rahimah Majid for N01 Banggi, Berusli Kimin for N02 Bengkoka, and Muhammad Affan Jumahat for N04 Tanjong Kapur, among others.
The contest will see candidates such as Awang Salleh Makmud (N08 Pintasan), Tiaminah @ Siti Aminah Ele (N12 Sulaman), and Mohd Zulkernain Osman (N13 Pantai Dalit) vying for seats. Prominent figures like Datuk Dr Aliakhbar Gulasan (N16 Karambunai) and Datuk Seri Ronald Kiandee (N48 Sugut) are also in the lineup.
The election will cover diverse constituencies, including N17 Darau represented by Nabila Norsahar, N21 Luyang by Ooi Hong Wee, and N22 Tanjung Aru by Suhaimi Bu
ang. Other candidates include Francis Mojikon (N26 Moyog), Adrian Alexander (N27 Limbahau), and Faizal Julaili (N29 Pantai Manis).
PN’s strategy includes targeting key areas such as N53 Sekong with Mohd Fazriee Awang and N55 Elopura with Mohd Firdaus @ Silvester Abdullah. The party is also focusing on N62 Silam with Borkes @ Balkis Kalinggalan and N70 Kukusan with Francis Lawrence @ Yusop.
The coalition aims to strengthen its political presence in Sabah through this diverse array of candidates, spanning from N01 Banggi to N73 Sebatek, ensuring robust representation across the state.
