Sungai linggi: The Negeri Sembilan Department of Wildlife and National Parks (Perhilitan) successfully captured a 500kg crocodile measuring 5.5 metres in Sungai Tanjung Agas, Sungai Linggi. The female crocodile, estimated to be 70 years old, was captured using a trap that had been strategically placed in the area two days prior.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Perhilitan director Wan Mat Wan Harun reported that the trap was set on Wednesday after receiving reports about the crocodile's presence in Tanjung Agas. At approximately 1.30 am today, a local resident noticed that the trap door had shut, indicating that the reptile was inside.

The crocodile has since been relocated to a facility managed by Perhilitan at Paya Indah Wetlands in Dengkil, Selangor. This capture has provided reassurance to the residents of Tanjung Agas, who had been on edge since an incident on May 25, where a retired police officer, Jaafa Hasan, 62, sustained injuries from a crocodile attack.
