Machap jaya: The Percha Forest area in Machap Jaya has emerged as a promising recreational tourism destination, capturing the interest of tourists with a penchant for hiking and nature.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Machap Jaya state assemblyman Datuk Ngwe Hee Sem highlighted the Bukit Percha Recreational Forest as an engaging attraction that visitors of all ages can explore. Open to the public for merely six months, the forest offers three distinct routes to its peak, measuring 0.85 km, 1.2 km, and 2.8 km, respectively.
"The route to the summit is also not too challenging and is quite relaxed, taking only between one and one and a half hours to reach the top, and climbers can enjoy the beautiful views of the village and nature," Datuk Ngwe said. Since its opening, Bukit Percha has welcomed over 700 visitors, including children and senior citizens.
Datuk Ngwe noted the need for essential amenities such as public toilets, gazebos, and parking areas to enhance visitor comfort and safety. He emphasized that these improvements are planned in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) and the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development. Funding for these developments will be sought under the Third Rolling Plan (RP3) of the 13th Malaysia Plan (MP13).
