Terengganu: Cik Hasnul Taqiyuddin Cik Sazali from Perak secured victory in the qari category, and Nur Syakura Mohamad Musa from Sarawak emerged as the qariah champion at the national-level 2026 Quran Recitation and Memorisation Assembly.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, both winners were awarded RM20,000 in cash, an additional RM10,000 for a haj pilgrimage, a trophy, souvenirs, and a certificate of participation. Selangor achieved the title of overall champion, showcasing strong performances across various memorisation categories.

In the 1-30 juz hafazan category, Muhammad Izzul Afnan Sazali from the Federal Territories claimed the male title, while Dina Hadfina Mohd Umarul Hisyam from Melaka won the female category. The 1-20 juz memorisation category saw victories from Wan Syimir Muhaimin Wan Ahmad Sadaba of Pahang in the male category, and Nur Izzati Norazmi from Selangor in the female category.

The 1-10 juz memorisation category was won by Muhammad Amnan Muhammad Sani from Sabah in the male category, with Siti Sofiyyah Abu Bakar from Kelantan emerging as the female champion. The assembly's closing ceremony was officiated by the Regent of Terengganu, Tengku Muhammad Ismail Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin, at the Gong Badak Indoor Stadium, Terengganu Sports Complex.

In attendance were royal figures Tengku Sri Setia Mahkota Raja Tengku Dato Seri Muhammad Mua'az and Tengku Puteri Daulath Raja Tengku Datuk Seri Fatimatuz Zahra, alongside Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) Dr Zulkifli Hasan and Terengganu Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar.
