Perak MSN Unveils Nation’s First Hydrotherapy Pool for Athletes

Perak: A pioneering hydrotherapy pool, the first of its kind at the State Sports Council (MSN) level in Malaysia, has been completed in Perak with an allocation of RM1.92 million. This facility aims to aid athletes in their recovery process and enhance their performance.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the State Education, Higher Education, Youth, and Sports Committee chairman, Khairudin Abu Hanipah, announced that the pool, constructed between January last year and February this year, is a collaborative effort involving the Perak State Finance Office, the State Economic Planning Unit (UPEN), the Public Works Department (JKR), and various related agencies. The hydrotherapy pool features both hot and cold pools, designed to expedite recovery and alleviate joint pressure for athletes undergoing treatment and recovery.

During the opening ceremony of the Perak MSN Hydrotherapy Pool, Khairudin emphasized the state government’s commitment to providing top-tier sports infrastructure comparable to international standards. The event also included the presentation of grants to state-level associations and was attended by Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad.

Additionally, RM125,000 has been allocated to 45 associations under the state Sports and Recreation Associations for the Disabled (PESRON), to support their operations, particularly in administration and management.
