Perak KPDN Foils Attempt To Buy Diesel Using Drums

Kuala kangsar: The Perak Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) thwarted an attempt by a local citizen to buy diesel fuel filled into drums without proper authority during Ops Tiris 4.0 in Kuala Kangsar, this morning.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Perak KPDN director Datuk Kamaluddin Ismail stated that the 8 am operation was conducted after a week-long intelligence investigation into diesel embezzlement at petrol stations around Kuala Kangsar and Sungai Siput. During the inspection, the team apprehended an individual filling diesel fuel into drums on a four-wheel drive (4x4) vehicle at a petrol station.

The suspect, a 46-year-old man, was found with four drums in the vehicle's rear. Two of these drums contained 200 litres of diesel oil, while the other two were still empty. The man admitted to purchasing the diesel oil but failed to present any authorization letter, license, or permit to store controlled goods from the Supply Controller.

As a consequence, KPDN seized the two drums containing 200 litres of diesel oil, relevant documents, and the four-wheel drive (4x4) vehicle, with the total seizure valued at an estimated RM31,304.00. The case is slated for investigation under the Control of Supplies Act 1961.
