Perak: The Perak Football Complex will serve as the official venue for Perak FA in this season’s A1 Semi Pro League, set to commence on August 3. Perak Football Association (PAFA) president Datuk Mohd Azhar Jamaluddin stated that they have requested a comprehensive inspection of the pitch and facilities by the Malaysian Stadium Corporation (PSM). The complex, which opened in 2019, is under review to ensure it meets all necessary conditions for official approval.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Mohd Azhar highlighted that improvements to the complex might be required, which could also allow it to host a variety of activities beyond football. The decision to make this complex the official home ground is partly based on the current location of the Manjung Municipal Council (MPM) Stadium being relatively distant from the team’s training center in Ipoh.
For the upcoming match against UM Damansara United on August 4, Perak FA will play at the MPM Stadium. Mohd Azhar mentioned that continuing to use the MPM Stadium may affect player performance and increase financial costs due to logistical issues. The team currently consists of 25 players, blending youth and experience from the Super League. Regulations allow for a roster of 25 to 30 players, leaving room for five more additions.
The management is actively seeking to fill three vacancies with imported players, focusing on attack, midfield, and defense positions. Trials have been conducted through friendly matches, and the search for quality players in these positions remains open.
