Perak Floods Fully Recover as Final Evacuation Centre Closes

Perak: The flood situation in Perak has fully recovered, with the last temporary evacuation centre (PPS) at Sekolah Kebangsaan Matang Gelugor in the Larut, Matang, and Selama (LMS) district officially closing this afternoon. LMS District Disaster Management Committee chairman Mohd Nasrul Menhat confirmed that the PPS was closed at 2 pm as the floodwaters had completely receded, allowing all victims to return to their respective homes.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the closure marks the end of a challenging period for residents affected by the floods. Mohd Nasrul Menhat expressed his gratitude for the cooperation of all departments and agencies involved in the operation of the PPS, highlighting the collective effort in managing the situation.

The Disaster Management Committee Secretariat had previously reported that 43 flood victims from 11 families were accommodated in two evacuation centres in the LMS and Batang Padang districts. Out of these, 37 individuals from nine families were sheltered at the PPS at SK Matang Gelugor, LMS, while six individuals from two families were relocated to the PPS at the Kampung Klah Baru multipurpose hall in Batang Padang.
