Perak Craft Festival 2025 Sets RM1.4 Million Sales Target

Teluk intan: The Perak Craft Festival (FKP) 2025, currently underway at Dataran Menara Condong Teluk Intan, is targeting sales of RM1.4 million.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) secretary-general Datuk Shaharuddin Abu Sohot expressed confidence in achieving the sales target, noting that last year’s festival recorded sales of RM1.12 million. To enhance this year’s festival, Kraftangan Malaysia is focusing on business matching activities. These activities involve meetings between craft entrepreneurs and craft export companies, government agencies, hospitality firms, and shopping malls.

Shaharuddin explained that these engagements aim to create opportunities for cooperation between craft entrepreneurs and potential buyers, assisting in market expansion, sales increase, and strategic strengthening of business networks. He shared these insights during a press conference following a walkabout at the festival venue. Also present at the event was the director-general of Kraftangan Malaysia, Datuk Ainu Sham Ramli.

The ongoing festival, running from August 28 to September 7, aims to attract 110,000 visitors. It features 55 craft entrepreneurs showcasing a variety of products, including textiles and items made from forest resources, soil, and metal. The festival also hosts a range of activities, including exhibitions of new craft products in conjunction with Visit Malaysia 2026, and displays highlighting state identity motifs.

Shaharuddin further elaborated that knowledge-development programmes are being held, such as interactive craft sessions, craft expressions, and fun craft activities. Additionally, visitor engagement events like street soccer competitions, arm wrestling, and Merdeka collages are part of the festival’s offerings.
