Perak Closes 2025 with RM85 Million Surplus, Marking Economic Recovery

Bandar meru raya: The Perak state government concluded 2025 with a robust financial performance, posting a revenue surplus of RM85 million, highlighting the state's economic recovery and stability. Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad attributed this achievement to prudent financial governance, structured expenditure management, and sustained political stability in the state.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Saarani emphasized that this success marks a significant turnaround for Perak, which had recorded deficits for three consecutive years before rebounding in the past two to three years. The state government has successfully reshaped the economic landscape and is now poised to strengthen its development foundations further.

Saarani noted that the state's economic growth has been bolstered by several high-impact projects, including the Automotive High Tech Valley (AHTV), Lumut Maritime Industrial City (LuMIC), Perak Halal Industrial Park (HIP), Silver Valley Technology Park (SVTP), and the Kerian Integrated Green Industrial Park (KIGIP). These initiatives have garnered recognition from the Federal Government, with many included in Budget 2026 and the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP).

The Menteri Besar highlighted that the success is a collective achievement for all Perakians, from various regions including Ipoh, Parit, Tanjong Malim, Lumut, Tapah, Kerian, Lenggong, and Gerik. Contributions came from dedicated civil servants, resilient small entrepreneurs, ambitious youths, and collaborative urban and rural communities.

Saarani also urged the people of Perak to capitalize on the Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026) campaign to further bolster the state's tourism sector. He emphasized the importance of collective effort to ensure Perak remains a preferred tourism destination and continues to prosper.
