Kuala lumpur: The people of Pahang have extended their heartfelt prayers for Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s speedy recovery following news that he is suffering from back pain which has restricted his movement. Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) Students’ Representative Council president Muhammad Haykal Halid said the university community is deeply concerned about the Prime Minister’s health and has prayed for his full recovery so he can resume his duties.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Muhammad Haykal Halid stated that the Prime Minister had to cancel his working visit to Pahang, including to UMPSA, on the advice of his medical team. The university community hopes for his swift recovery so he can continue his responsibilities. Another UMPSA student, Muhammad Hariez Al Khawarizmi Hanapi, expressed his desire to meet the Prime Minister and wished for his health, emphasizing the importance of Anwar’s well-being over personal aspirations.
Suriati Azami, a staff member at the MADANI Community Centre booth, also shared her hopes for a future visit from the Prime Minister once he recovers, emphasizing the community’s prayers for his health. Mechanic Mohd Zahri Sukor highlighted the Prime Minister’s busy schedule and stressed the need for Anwar to rest adequately before returning to his official duties.
The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) confirmed that Anwar had to cancel his scheduled visit to Pahang on medical advice due to back pain. The PMO conveyed Anwar’s apologies to the people of Pahang who had been preparing for his visit. Anwar was expected to participate in several events, including officiating the closing ceremony of the 2025 Hawkers and Small Traders Carnival in Temerloh, attending the Temu Anwar@UMPSA programme, and engaging with industry leaders in Kuantan.
