People Need To Understand Each Other For A United Nation

Kuala Lumpur: All citizens in this country must understand and respect each other and accept diversity to forge a united country. National Unity Minister Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang emphasized that instilling unity is not only the government’s responsibility, but it is a shared responsibility.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang highlighted the importance of community involvement, urging parents, teachers, community leaders, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), and the private sector to work together in implementing the value of unity in daily life. He stressed that the family plays a crucial role as the first institution shaping the values and thinking of the younger generation. He called upon parents to be role models, instilling values such as respect and tolerance in their children from an early age.

Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang also emphasized the importance of fostering the value of moderation (wasatiyyah) among the younger generation. He noted that this value is vital in forming an attitude of openness, tolerance, and mutual respect. By adopting a moderate attitude, society can be safeguarded against the influence of extremism, which poses a threat to the country’s harmony.

He concluded by urging Malaysians to strengthen the country’s harmony collectively, rejecting all forms of extremism, narrow-minded racism, and fanaticism that could jeopardize the peace enjoyed by the nation today.
