PDRM Urged to Embrace Digitalisation and AI for Improved Service Delivery: Ayob Khan

Selangor: The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) must leverage digitalisation, data analytics, and artificial intelligence (AI) to ensure efficient and effective service delivery in response to evolving challenges, Deputy Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay stated. As modern policing confronts increasingly complex threats, such as cybercrime, online scams, AI manipulation, deepfake technology, and various forms of transnational crime, the need for technological advancement becomes imperative.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Ayob Khan emphasized that smart policing transcends merely adopting modern technology. It involves fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making, digital service delivery, and operational management that is more responsive, precise, and driven by integrity. He highlighted these points during the launch of the 2026 PDRM Innovation Day celebration at the Selangor contingent police headquarters.

He further noted that a culture of innovation is essential for transforming PDRM into a modern, professional, and resilient organization. Ayob Khan called on all personnel to continuously generate new ideas and embrace digitalisation and AI ethically. He stressed that fostering a culture of innovation is not just about adhering to government policy requirements but about instilling a new mindset and work culture within PDRM personnel.

Ayob Khan concluded by stating that innovation should be integrated into daily practices rather than being limited to competitions or specific projects.
