PDRM Seizes RM21 Million in Narcotics, Cripples Two Drug Syndicates

Kuala lumpur: The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) has effectively dismantled two drug trafficking syndicates in separate operations conducted in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur, leading to the seizure of narcotics valued at RM21 million.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Bukit Aman Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department (NCID) director Datuk Hussein Omar Khan detailed the operations during a press conference at the Selangor Contingent Police headquarters. The first operation, Ops Tapis, took place on February 12 in Sekinchan, where two Indonesian men and an Indonesian woman were apprehended. The suspects, aged between 26 and 53, were arrested during a raid on a house in Kampung Sungai Leman, which resulted in the seizure of 11.36 grammes of methamphetamine. Tests confirmed that two of the suspects were using the drug.

A subsequent raid on an unregistered boat at a fishing jetty uncovered substantial quantities of drugs, including 158.6kg of methamphetamine, 10.89kg of ecstasy, and 2,000 MDMA cartridges weighing 5kg, valued at approximately RM12.6 million. Authorities also confiscated a Llama Cal.38 Super pistol with a magazine containing four rounds, along with 45 bullets. The suspects had specific roles within the syndicate, which had been operational since early 2021, utilizing speedboats for drug smuggling into Indonesia.

In another operation, Ops Bena, Bukit Aman NCID arrested four local men and a woman, aged between 27 and 37, in four separate raids across Selangor and Kuala Lumpur. This operation resulted in the seizure of 138kg of methamphetamine and various other drugs, with a total estimated value of RM8.4 million. The syndicate, active since July 2025, employed a 'hide-and-collect' method for drug distribution, and was linked to gangsterism within the Klang Valley.

The investigations for both cases are ongoing, with the first case under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 and Section 8 of the Firearms (Increased Penalties) Act 1971, and the second case under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952. PDRM emphasized the importance of intelligence operations and public cooperation in combating drug trafficking activities.
