Bali: The Perak Culinary Arts Academy @ Kolej Komuniti Chenderoh (PCAA@KKCP) brought pride to Malaysia after winning three Best of Class awards at the Bali Salon Culinaire 2026 in Bali, Indonesia, recently.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the 13th edition of the competition, held from April 28 to 30, attracted more than 700 participants from countries including Taiwan, South Korea, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore.
In a statement today, PCAA@KKCP said it was represented by two lecturers, Khairul Ashikhin Abdullah Suhami and Shawal Fikri Sihab, who competed in the Professional Chef category. Khairul Ashikhin competed in three categories while Shawal Fikri took part in one, making a total of four entries.
'PCAA@KKCP won three Best of Class awards, two gold medals, one silver and one bronze. Among the highlights was Shawal Fikri's Best of Class win in the Asian Curry category, for which he also received a trophy and Sango Plate,' it said. Khairul Ashikhin also secured two Best of Class awards in the Vegan International and Western Beef Main Course categories, earning a trophy, Chef Knife, and Sango Plate.
The academy said the achievement reflects its commitment to producing competitive graduates in the culinary field at the international level, and expressed hope it would inspire students to strive for excellence.
