Pasir gudang: The contractor involved in the Pasir Gudang Highway widening project has been given until tomorrow to carry out repair work on the damaged road in the area. Johor Public Works, Transport, Infrastructure and Communications Committee chairman Mohamad Fazli Mohamad Salleh emphasized the urgency of the situation, stating that the repairs should involve full pavement works rather than temporary patching to cover potholes.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Mohamad Fazli highlighted the concerns raised by numerous comments and complaints regarding the potholes and poorly lit conditions along the Pasir Gudang Highway. After personally inspecting the site, he confirmed the presence of potholed and hazardous sections of the road, compounded by inadequately lit areas. These issues have arisen along the stretch where the road widening project, expanding the highway from four lanes to six lanes, is currently in progress.
Mohamad Fazli has also mandated that the entire project area be equipped with adequate lighting, moving beyond just ‘blinkers,’ to enhance the safety of road users.
