Kuala lumpur: PAS will not bow to the will of any party, including Bersatu, in determining its political direction. Its president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang stated that the party would thoroughly examine every negative action taken by Bersatu. He also mentioned that PAS does not rule out the possibility of moving forward without Bersatu ahead of the 16th General Election (GE16) should both parties fail to reach a consensus in their political cooperation.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the party is currently reassessing its ties with its ally in Perikatan Nasional (PN) comprehensively to ensure it does not affect the party's performance. 'We are reviewing all aspects (of the cooperation) because the election is approaching. Elections come with gains and losses. If it affects election matters, we will act accordingly,' Abdul Hadi said at a press conference after a Dhuha lecture.
Abdul Hadi also indicated that the ties between the two parties are currently being tested, saying that PAS remains patient, but stressing that such patience has its limits.
