Parit yaani: Since beginning operations in February, the National Information Dissemination Centre (NADI) in Parit Yaani state constituency has become a vital hub for residents of surrounding villages, helping them access digital services and essential information, particularly in agriculture and public programmes. Located at the Penghulu Mukim 6 Linau Complex, the centre is easing daily tasks for villagers by offering reliable internet access and support for online services.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Irwan A. Rahman, a 44-year-old farmer from Kampung Parit Suratman, has found the centre to be transformative for maintaining awareness of agricultural developments and managing online applications. The centre is crucial for individuals like him, living in areas with limited internet access.
For Nur Aina Ezzati Ismadi, a 20-year-old private sector employee, NADI is an essential resource for bridging the digital gap between urban and rural communities. She frequently uses the centre for completing online government applications, including her application for the Sejati MADANI programme, which she finds particularly helpful.
Noor Ashikien A.R. Azman, manager of Parit Yaani NADI, explained that the centre provides more than just internet connectivity. It offers various programmes for all age groups, including weekly activities such as cooking, photography, gadget repair, sewing, and agriculture workshops. Basic health screenings are also available for residents.
Students benefit from tuition classes in subjects like Bahasa Melayu, English, History, Science, Mathematics, and General Studies. Primary school children have opportunities to participate in entrepreneurship and robotics programmes, while secondary school students can learn IT-related skills, such as website development and computer programming.
Recently, the centre launched the Safe Internet Campaign, focusing on increasing digital literacy and raising awareness about online safety and fraud prevention among rural communities. Noor Ashikien noted that this initiative is crucial for ensuring that residents, especially those less familiar with the internet, can navigate it safely and avoid scams.
