Parents Urged to Attend School During Early Schooling Assistance Distribution

Putrajaya: Parents are encouraged to be present at schools during the distribution of the Early Schooling Assistance (BAP), which is taking place throughout this week. Education Ministry Deputy Secretary-General (Management) Datuk Ahmad Suhaimi Endut emphasized the importance of parental involvement to ensure they understand the distribution process and can verify that their children receive the correct amount of assistance.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Ahmad Suhaimi highlighted the need for parental involvement while speaking to the media after inspecting the first day of the 2026 school session at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Putrajaya Presint 18(1). He expressed concerns about past incidents where students reported receiving a lower amount of assistance than was actually distributed. Each student is intended to receive RM150, but some reported only receiving RM100.

The BAP initiative, which benefits 5.2 million students nationwide, aims to ease the financial burden on parents and guardians in preparing for school expenses. Ahmad Suhaimi noted that students attended school enthusiastically on the first day of the session, with parents emphasizing the importance of education.

Teachers play a crucial role in motivating students to attend school eager to learn. In addition, Putrajaya Federal Territory Education director Nadimin Abdul Aziz announced two significant events scheduled for this Thursday in Putrajaya. These include the official handover of the Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Putrajaya Presint 8(3) building by the Public Works Department (JKR) to the Ministry of Education, and the distribution of BAP in Putrajaya by Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek.
