Putrajaya: The 2026 Pandu Citra Week organised by the National Institute of Public Administration (INTAN) serves as an important platform for strengthening leadership within the public service, said Chief Secretary to the Government (KSN) Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar. He highlighted the role of a good leader in managing an organisation, guiding officers, recognising their potential, and nurturing their development.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Shamsul Azri emphasised the significance of the 99 Pemandu Citra Profesional Sektor Awam, who are currently serving as driving forces in their respective organisations. He encouraged the continuation and expansion of this coaching approach to all levels of the department. He urged individuals to become Pandu Citra ambassadors, cultivating a culture of guidance, listening, and development within their organisations. He stated that the true measure of leadership is not only in personal achievements but also in the ability to build more leaders.
Shamsul Azri also extended congratulations to all award recipients recognised under the programme. The Ministry of Health was honoured with the 2026 Inspirasi Pandu Citra Sektor Awam Award in the Organisation of the Year category. Additionally, Putrajaya Hospital Deputy Director of Medical Dr Mohammad Khairol Anwar Yusop was named the 2026 Pandu Citra Sektor Awam ambassador.
The Pandu Citra Ambassador Award was presented to Negeri Sembilan Islamic Religious Council Director of Administration Muhammad Aszam Gambaris @ Watimin and Occupational Health Specialist at Tuanku Fauziah Hospital, Kangar, Perlis, Dr Muhammad Shauqi Abdul Kadir.
The 2026 Pandu Citra Week aimed to increase awareness, understanding, and acceptance among public officials of the Pandu Citra approach as a method of human capital development. The initiative seeks to strengthen leadership, improve performance, and unlock individual potential towards excellence. The programme serves as a platform for sharing knowledge and best practices to promote wider adoption of the Pandu Citra approach in the public service.
