Pakatan Harapan Considers Alliances for Melaka State Election

Melaka:Pakatan Harapan (PH) is considering forming alliances to establish a stable government in the upcoming Melaka state election, according to Amanah secretary-general Muhammad Faiz Fadzil. According to BERNAMA News Agency, Muhammad Faiz emphasized the coalition's preference to collaborate with partners who can contribute to forming a stable state government. While a decision on potential cooperation is anticipated soon, the possibility of PH contesting independently remains an option. Muhammad Faiz stated that Amanah believes teaming up with allies who are committed to a stable governance structure in Melaka would be advantageous. This statement was made following the LKIM chairman's engagement session with Telok Mas fishermen at the Tanjong Nibong fishermen's jetty. He further noted that the PH Presidential Council would ultimately decide on any political cooperation, although Amanah has been exploring potential collaborations with various parties. In the 2021 state election, Barisan Nasional secured 21 out of the 28 contested seats, while PH won five and Perikatan Nasional two. The Election Commission is scheduled to meet on Wednesday to determine the dates for the state polls.
