Pahang Sultan Emphasizes Compliance With Laws for Houses of Worship Construction

Pahang: Sultan of Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah has called for the construction of houses of worship in the state to adhere strictly to established laws and regulations, emphasizing the importance of preserving harmony within the pluralistic society.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, His Royal Highness highlighted that constructing houses of worship without following legal procedures not only violates regulations but also risks creating misunderstandings and tension among different races and religions. "The law is not meant to restrict or oppress, but to coordinate and ensure justice and harmony for all," he stated in a post on the Official Portal of the Sultanate of Pahang.

The Sultan made these remarks during the opening ceremony of the Tengku Amir Ibrahim Sultan Abdullah Mosque in Taman Bukit Bendera, Temerloh. He warned that neglecting proper procedures could lead to confusion and disputes within the community. "It is like building a house without a plan; eventually it will collapse," he remarked, stressing the need for order and compliance over hasty actions that might incite discord.

Furthermore, Al-Sultan Abdullah urged authorities, including local councils, the non-Muslim house of worship committee, the Islamic Religious Affairs Department, and community leaders, to collaborate in clarifying procedures and guiding the public appropriately. The Sultan emphasized the importance of maturity and responsibility among the people to maintain unity in the state.
