Pahang Royal Family Observes Three Days Of Mourning

Kuantan: The Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, has ordered the Pahang royal family to observe three days of mourning following the death of his elder sister, Tengku Puteri Seri Kemala Tengku Datuk Seri Aishah Almarhum Sultan Ahmad Shah.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Comptroller of the Royal Household of the Sultan of Pahang, Maj Gen Datuk Mohamed Zahari Yahya, stated that the mourning period would begin today and continue until Saturday. During this time, members of the Pahang royal family are required to wear white, and male members should wear a songkok wrapped with white cloth. The family is also encouraged to hold tahlil and Yasin recitation sessions.

The statement emphasized the significant loss felt by the Pahang royal family, especially by the Sultan of Pahang and Tengku Ampuan of Pahang Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah. The people of Pahang are urged to recite Al-Fatihah and pray for Tengku Puteri's soul to receive forgiveness and mercy and to be granted a place in paradise.

Tengku Datuk Seri Aishah passed away at a hospital in Kuala Lumpur at 9.15 pm on Wednesday and was laid to rest at the Royal Mausoleum in Pekan this afternoon.
