Pahang: The Pahang Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MUIP) has allocated RM3 million for the 2025 School Equipment Tithe Distribution Aid for the educational needs of the asnaf group in the state. MUIP Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Baitulmal and Operations), Dr. Asmadi Abdul Rahman, announced that 20,000 asnaf and underprivileged heads of households across the state are eligible for the assistance.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, primary and secondary school students will receive vouchers worth RM200 each, while preschoolers will be given RM150. The RM3 million allocation marks a 100 percent increase compared to RM1.5 million last year. Information about the assistance has been communicated to the asnaf and impoverished household heads via SMS.
Dr. Asmadi stated that recipients need to update the number of school-going children in their households by February 15 on the MUIP website to determine the number of vouchers to be issued. The vouchers are valid until March 31. He shared these details after launching the programme at Sakan Supermarket, where 20 asnaf individuals received the aid.
Asmadi also mentioned that those not listed as recipients could apply for the aid through the MUIP website or visit any of its nearest offices.
