Pahang Government Commences Lunch Sponsorship for SPM Candidates

KUANTAN: The Pahang state government has initiated a program to provide free lunches to all Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) 2024 candidates taking their written exams, excluding those living in hostels, starting today and continuing until February 6. This effort underscores the government’s commitment to supporting students in their academic endeavors.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Pahang Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail, announced this initiative, emphasizing it as a demonstration of the state government’s support for the students’ pursuit of education and a brighter future. He noted that the Education Minister, Fadhlina Sidek, expressed her appreciation for this gesture and extended her thanks and greetings to the people of Pahang.

In his statement on his official Facebook account, Wan Rosdy conveyed his wishes for peace, strength, and wisdom to the students. He also called on the public to pray for the candidates to approach their exams with serenity and good health.

The examination period will see a total of 20,401 candidates in Pahang attending the written exams at 259 centers. This includes 104 candidates with special educational needs (CBPK), covering various categories such as visual, hearing, speech, physical disabilities, and learning difficulties. The initiative aims to provide support and encouragement to all students as they undertake this crucial academic milestone.
