Pahang Allocates RM2.5 Million for Student Exercise and Reference Books

Pahang: The Pahang government has announced an allocation of RM2.5 million dedicated to providing exercise and reference books to 23,784 secondary school students statewide, as stated by Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail. This initiative targets students preparing for the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM), Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM), and Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) examinations this year.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Makmur Pahang Buku Rujukan dan Buku Latihan programme is the vehicle for this initiative, underscoring the state government’s focus on education as a crucial element of human development. Wan Rosdy emphasized the necessity of this program, noting that not all students can afford books, which often necessitates borrowing. He expressed the government’s intention to continue this initiative annually, recognizing the significant educational support the books provide.

Wan Rosdy conveyed confidence in the program, which currently covers four main subjects: Bahasa Melayu, English, Mathematics, and Science. Speaking at the inauguration of the program at Dewan Perdana, Sekolah Menengah Sains Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah, he highlighted the program’s inaugural launch and its potential benefits for the students.

In response to queries about alleged high bullying incidents in Pahang, Wan Rosdy clarified that such claims were inaccurate after consultation with the Pahang State Education director. He assured that any reported incidents of bullying would be addressed with appropriate measures.
