Over RM1.5 Million In Aid Distributed To Limbang, Lawas in January

Limbang: The Limbang Division Social Welfare office has distributed more than RM1.5 million in aid this January, benefiting 3,129 recipients across the Limbang and Lawas districts. Sarawak Deputy Minister of Women, Children, and Community Wellbeing, Datuk Mohammad Razi Sitam, announced this during a recent event.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the assistance included RM1,404,900 in federal aid and RM146,250 in state aid. The announcement was made during the donation presentation ceremony held in conjunction with the 2025 Chinese New Year (CNY) Sejambak Kasih programme. Datuk Mohammad Razi Sitam noted that last year, the total assistance disbursed in these two districts was RM16,688,350.

During his speech at the event, Datuk Mohammad Razi Sitam emphasized the importance of such donations, stating, “Donations like these are a noble effort that significantly impacts those in need. I firmly believe in the concept that the more you give, the more you receive.”

The event also saw the participation of 212 aid recipients in Limbang, who received donations under the Sejambak Kasih programme. This annual initiative by the Sarawak Social Welfare Department allocated a total of RM29,280 for the programme in the Limbang Division, which included RM21,200 in cash and RM8,080 in CNY hampers.
