Kuala lumpur: The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) have successfully arrested 11,864 individuals allegedly linked to 31,949 fraud cases resulting in losses amounting to RM1.5 billion this year. Home Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail attributed these arrests to nearly 10,000 operations conducted by the Bukit Aman Commercial Crime Investigation Department (JSJK).

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Saifuddin praised the police force during the Police Special Dialogue III’s closing ceremony, acknowledging the significant responsibility they bear and their commendable performance. He highlighted the JSJK’s role in safeguarding the country’s economy and reinforcing public trust in security institutions.

Saifuddin urged police members and officers to enhance their skills as the nation’s primary enforcement agency, particularly in mastering Artificial Intelligence (AI) to combat cybercrime. He also reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to modernising police infrastructure, expanding capacity, and facilitating cross-sector support.

During the dialogue forum, discussions centered on national security challenges, extending beyond physical borders to include data protection, digital sovereignty, and collective cyber awareness. The need for robust inter-agency cooperation to tackle complex cybercrime was emphasized, alongside the JSJK’s pivotal role in fighting commercial crime, which bolsters public confidence.

The dialogue was a collaborative effort by JSJK, the Home Ministry, Alpine Integrated Solutions, and Koperasi Polis Diraja Malaysia Bhd, drawing participation from security agencies, technology experts, academics, and the private sector.
