Over 2,000 Residents Participate in Paya Rumput’s National Day and Malaysia Day Festivities

Krubong: Over 2,000 residents turned up to enliven the Paya Rumput state constituency’s 2025 National Day and Malaysia Day celebrations at the Hang Jebat Stadium grounds in Krubong here today. Paya Rumput assemblyman Datuk Rais Yasin said the inaugural programme aimed to enliven the national month celebrations, with people of different races and age groups taking part in various events.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the event highlighted the spirit of unity among the people of the Paya Rumput constituency, underscoring their commitment to participating in this year’s National Day and Malaysia Day celebrations. Datuk Rais Yasin stated that the objectives were to ensure the spirit of love for the country continues to burn brightly in the hearts of the people, alongside instilling feelings of gratitude and pride at being Malaysians. He expressed the intention to continue such celebrations in the coming years.

Among the events, 1,300 people participated in the Family Fun Run, 140 joined the checkers competition, and 24 teams competed in the traditional game of “konda kondi.” Additionally, 350 participants took part in fancy costume and colouring competitions, and there was a patriotic song singing competition involving participants of various ages.

Prizes, including a motorcycle and electrical items, were available for lucky visitors, and 500 free T-shirts were distributed to early arrivals at the Family Fun Run. The event was supported by the Information Department (JAPEN), Youth and Sports Department, Community Development Department (Kemas), and the Department of National Unity and National Integration (JPNIN).
