Johor bahru: UDA Holdings Berhad (UDA) turned up the excitement for Visit Johor 2026 with the UDA Night Run and Midnight Sales at Angsana Johor Bahru Mall (AJBM) last night, drawing crowds of enthusiastic participants and shoppers. Organised through UDA's subsidiaries Angsana Sdn Bhd and UDA Land (South) Sdn Bhd, the event drew more than 2,000 participants and visitors from all walks of life.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the event reflects UDA's commitment to enhancing the role of commercial premises as community hubs, promoting affordable properties, fostering community ties, and supporting Johor's economic growth and tourism. The programme, held for the first time at AJBM from 7.30 pm to 1 am, featured a night run, midnight sales, UDA property promotions, performances by One Avenue Band and Rahmad Mega, as well as lucky draws.
The flag-off for the 5-kilometre UDA Night Run was officiated by UDA Land South Sdn Bhd chief operating officer Muhammad Ismail Dasuki; Tourism Johor director Mohammad Nazrul Abd Rahim; UDA Investment and Property Management senior vice president Mohd Nazri Jamiran; and UDA Angsana Sdn Bhd chief operating officer Imran Salleh. Also present were Bank Simpanan Nasional Negeri Johor director Awang Shawal Awang Sulaiman, Tourism Malaysia Southern Region deputy director Awang Shawal Awang Sulaiman, and Majestic Johor director Jeffri Munir.
UDA interim president and chief executive officer Azrudyn Rashid stated that the programme was in line with the company's commitment to developing inclusive and livable cities while ensuring existing and future commercial premises remain relevant, active, and bring added value to the local community. "UDA is not merely developing properties but also plays a role in building a vibrant and competitive city. The UDA Night Run and Midnight Sales serves as a new platform to support Visit Johor 2026, engaging the community and enhancing the impact of shopping malls," he told Bernama.
In a bid to broaden public exposure to property ownership, UDA Land (South) Sdn Bhd also organised property exhibitions and sales throughout the Midnight Sales, giving visitors a first-hand look at UDA's latest development projects in Johor. Among the projects highlighted were UDA Heights in Bandar UDA Utama, featuring semi-detached and two-storey bungalows, and Sedili Residensi in Taman Sedili, Kota Tinggi, offering affordable single-storey terraced houses.
The programme also promoted upcoming projects set for launch in 2026 and 2027, including two-storey terraced houses in UDA Enclave, Residensi Monstera with two- and three-storey townhouses in Bandar UDA Utama, and Ebony, a 34-storey serviced apartment in Bandar Baru UDA. As a special treat in conjunction with the Midnight Sales, the first five property bookings enjoyed an exclusive IKEA gift card worth RM2,000.
AJBM is also organising several community programmes, including the BSN SSP Carnival from Dec 30, 2025, to Jan 4, 2026, while planning upcoming events such as a Pre-Ramadan Promotion starting Jan 14, and the Aidilfitri Carnival from Feb 5 until the eve of Hari Raya. Established in 1971 as the Urban Development Authority, UDA is now a government-linked company under the Ministry of Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development.
