Shah alam: More than 1,000 flood victims have found refuge in 14 Temporary Evacuation Centres (PPS) across various districts in Selangor. Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari announced that the state government will declare additional follow-up measures and aid after reviewing the current flood situation.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Amirudin conveyed that several state executive councillors (Excos) would visit the PPS to assess the situation, with a special briefing on flood management scheduled for the following day. He urged Selangor assemblymen to safely return to their constituencies and report any additional support required for dealing with the flood crisis.
Media reports earlier highlighted Amirudin’s directive for all Excos and Selangor government officers to visit flood-affected victims in response to heavy rains that began the previous day. The state government is actively monitoring and updating the flood situation in Selangor.
Meanwhile, Selangor Exco for Youth, Sports, and Entrepreneurship Mohd Najwan Halimi reported that the 14 PPS operating include districts in Sabak Bernam with two centres, Kuala Selangor (three), Petaling (two), Hulu Langat (four), and Klang (three) as of 7 pm. Mohd Najwan, who also heads the state Disaster Management Unit, stated that 1,303 victims from 350 families are currently sheltered in these centres.
The Selangor State Assembly has adjourned sine die.
