Kuala Lumpur: More than 100 librarians and information professionals, including participants from ASEAN countries, took part in the Librarians Fun Run 2025 today in conjunction with the Congress of Southeast Asian Librarians Conference and Meeting (CONSAL) 2025.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Librarians Fun Run 2025 Project Director Dr. A’dillah Mustafa stated that the five-kilometre run, held around the Sungai Bunus area and Titiwangsa Lake Gardens, saw the participation of 12 delegates from Vietnam, the Philippines, and Indonesia. A’dillah, who is also a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Information Management, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Puncak Perdana, explained that the programme aimed to promote a healthy lifestyle.
She noted that the event served as a platform for librarians and information professionals from Southeast Asian countries to exchange fresh ideas in a more relaxed and open setting. The event took place at the Sungai Bunus Urban Farm, where she spoke to Bernama.
The event was attended by key figures such as Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Economic News Service Azlina Aziz and Bernama Senior Digital Library Manager Hasnita Ibrahim. Previously, National Library Director-General Edy Irwan Zulkafli mentioned that library professionals from all 10 ASEAN member countries would gather for the 19th CONSAL in Kuala Lumpur. The gathering aims to share knowledge and strengthen regional cooperation over four days.
Edy Irwan highlighted that the congress would address challenges facing the library profession and related issues at both national and regional levels.
