Over 100 Applications for Investor Pass Received by Immigration Department

Kuala Lumpur: The Immigration Department has announced that it has received a total of 102 applications for the Social Visit Pass (Long Term) for Business Visitors, commonly referred to as the Investor Pass, since its implementation on April 1. This was confirmed by the Immigration director-general, Datuk Zakaria Shaaban.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, only one application out of the 102 has been approved so far, with four others currently undergoing verification. A total of 30 applications were rejected due to reasons such as incomplete documentation, while the remaining applications are still being completed by the applicants. The Immigration Department, in collaboration with the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA), processes each application within five working days, provided that all submitted documents are complete.

The Investor Pass allows eligible individuals to enter and stay in Malaysia for an initial period of six months, with the possibility of extending for an additional six months, subject to the conditions of a Multiple Entry Visa (MEV). This initiative aims to streamline the entry process for business visitors and foreign investors, particularly those committed to investing in Malaysia through investment agencies or relevant authorities.

Zakaria highlighted that all applications must be submitted through a single-window platform, the MYXpats system, which ensures a centralized and efficient application process.
