Organised Crime Suspect Nabbed in Ops Jack Sparrow by Bukit Aman CID

Kuala lumpur: The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) has confirmed the arrest of a suspect involved in organised crime through Ops Jack Sparrow, conducted by the Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department (CID). The suspect was arrested following an arrest warrant issued by the Sepang Sessions Court, Selangor, on January 14.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, CID director Datuk M. Kumar announced that the suspect is being investigated under Section 130V of the Penal Code for membership in an organised crime gang, which carries a prison sentence of five to twenty years. The arrest was made with the assistance of local authorities in Bangkok, Thailand, before the suspect was extradited to Malaysia.

The suspect is also linked to a case in Subang Jaya last month and is being investigated under Section 326 of the Penal Code for causing grievous hurt and Section 148 of the Penal Code for possession of a deadly weapon in a riot. The punishment for these offences includes imprisonment, fines, or whipping.

Today, the suspect was charged under Section 130V(1) of the Penal Code at the Sepang Sessions Court, with further charges under Sections 326 and 148 of the Penal Code expected soon. PDRM has expressed gratitude to Thai authorities for their cooperation and reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring national security and public safety.

Media reports indicate that three main suspects from Ops Jack Sparrow, including the arrested individual, arrived at Kuala Lumpur International Airport from Mumbai, India. They were taken to the Sepang District Police Headquarters for processing and subsequently charged at the Sepang Court.

Ops Jack Sparrow, conducted on September 11, targeted an organised crime gang with 33 members, led by an individual known as "Captain Praba."
