Pahang: Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail has urged Orang Asli youths in the state to pursue higher education, particularly in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), to improve their prospects and address the community's school dropout rate. He highlighted the importance of this initiative, emphasizing that Pahang is home to about 90,000 Orang Asli.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Wan Rosdy expressed hope that Orang Asli graduates of YP Advanced Skills would return to their villages to inspire younger members of their community to continue their education. He underscored the importance of acquiring skills in today's world, stating that they are no longer a secondary option. Wan Rosdy hopes that the graduates will serve as role models for the youth in their community, encouraging them to enroll at YP Advanced Skills.

He made these remarks while speaking to reporters after officiating the YP Advanced Skills Malaysian Skills Certificate and Diploma Convocation Ceremony at the Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Silver Jubilee Hall. The ceremony celebrated 388 graduates from various programmes, including Tahfiz Mahir, diploma and Malaysian Skills Certificate courses, bread-making, and other skills-based programmes.

Wan Rosdy also praised YP Advanced Skills for its success in producing graduates with strong character and high employability. He pointed out that skills qualifications offer significant advantages, as graduates have the option to start their own businesses or seek employment, both of which present good opportunities. He advised graduates to pursue further studies whenever possible to unlock even greater opportunities.
