Sungai Siput: Sira Suhairi, 20, from Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Toh Muda Abdul Aziz, did not expect to achieve commendable results in the Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM), obtaining a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.09.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Sira, from the Temiar tribe, expressed her disbelief and happiness upon receiving her results. She noted that her performance in the trial exams did not reach a 3.0 GPA, making her success even more unexpected.
Sira lived in a hostel over 60 kilometres from her home in Kuala Mu, Sungai Siput, and emphasized her commitment to extra classes organized by her school. She mentioned that living away from her family was challenging, but the dormitory environment allowed her to concentrate more on her studies. Her daily routine was filled with study sessions, both in class and during revision time with friends.
Sira aspires to further her education at the Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI), with the goal of becoming a teacher. Her achievements are part of a broader success story, as Perak Education director Safuan Raba’ai highlighted that 13 Orang Asli candidates in the state achieved a CGPA of over 3.0 in the STPM results.
