San francisco: OPAQUE, the Confidential AI company based in San Francisco, California, has announced the acquisition of cutting-edge cryptographic AI technologies from the Technology Innovation Institute (TII). TII is recognized as the applied research arm of Abu Dhabi's Advanced Technology Research Council (ATRC). This acquisition enhances OPAQUE's capabilities by introducing confidential AI model training facilitated by sophisticated cryptographic methods, including multi-party computation and fully homomorphic encryption. Additionally, it incorporates post-quantum cryptographic protections, ensuring robust security across the AI lifecycle.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, this strategic move allows OPAQUE to extend its support for Confidential AI workflows throughout both the training and inference stages. Founded by researchers from UC Berkeley's RISELab, OPAQUE aims to transition enterprises from isolated AI experiments to fully deployed production models at a significantly accelerated rate-four to five times faster than traditional approaches.
