Op Motosikal Crackdown: Four Teenagers Detained, Dozens of Motorcycles Confiscated in Manjung

Manjung: Four teenage boys were arrested while 46 motorcycles were seized in a recent Op Motosikal operation conducted at Kilometre 75, Jalan Jelapang-Ipoh-Kampung Kayan (Batu 6 Lekir) near the entrance to the Sitiawan Toll Plaza, West Coast Highway (WCE), Manjung.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Manjung district police chief ACP Hasbullah Abd Rahman stated that the operation was executed by the Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division of the Manjung district police headquarters (IPD) in collaboration with the Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) of the Perak police contingent headquarters (IPK), with assistance from the WCE. The operation, which lasted from 1 am to 6 am, involved inspections of 138 motorcycles and eight cars.

"A total of 234 summonses for various traffic offences were issued, and four males aged between 16 and 19 years were arrested under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless or dangerous riding," Hasbullah detailed in a statement released today. "In addition, 46 motorcycles were also seized under Section 64(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987."

Hasbullah emphasized that the primary goal of the operation was to ensure the safety of road users and to combat street thug activities within the Manjung district. Furthermore, enforcement actions are being taken as part of broader efforts to curb such activities.
