Penang: The Ministry of Human Resources (KESUMA) plans to establish a One-Stop Centre for Employee Services aimed at resolving labour-related issues efficiently. Human Resources Minister Steven Sim Chee Keong announced that the centre would consolidate labour-related services, eliminating the need for employees or employers to visit multiple departments.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Minister Sim emphasized the initiative’s goal of enhancing worker welfare throughout the country. He stated that the centre would facilitate access to services for employees, employers, and human resource managers, allowing them to address any labour-related concerns directly at the one-stop centre.
Minister Sim shared this information during his speech at the Penang DAP Hari Raya Aidilfitri Open House. The event was attended by notable figures such as Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow, DAP state vice-chairman Zairil Khir Johari, and DAP adviser Lim Guan Eng.
Sim further mentioned that Penang would serve as the launch location for this initiative, marking the beginning of a nationwide effort to improve the support system for workers. He expressed his commitment to collaborating with the Penang state government to implement this pilot project effectively.
The open house witnessed the presence of around 1,000 guests, including state party leaders from the Unity Government.
