Gua musang: The 'One Pos, One Adopted University' initiative, designed to enhance educational access and socioeconomic development for Orang Asli settlements, is set to expand into rural areas in Gua Musang. This expansion aims to bridge the gap between the Orang Asli community, government agencies, and educational institutions.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Galas state assemblyman Datuk Mohd Syahbuddin Hashim highlighted that this initiative is a central component of the 'Be Ades Ma Kampung' programme. Universiti Malaysia Kelantan and Kolej Poly-Tech MARA have already participated in the first series of this programme, with Universiti Utara Malaysia slated to join in the second series.

Mohd Syahbuddin expressed his intention to solidify the 'One Pos, One Adopted University' concept within the Gua Musang district. He emphasized that the involvement of higher education institutions could significantly enhance access to education and contribute to the socioeconomic development of the Orang Asli community.

Additionally, Agrobank has expanded its services to the interior regions by establishing physical counters, allowing the community to open savings accounts and improve their financial literacy. The programme has engaged 193 volunteers and also commemorated National Month celebrations through the distribution of Jalur Gemilang flags and food baskets to 1,283 heads of households (KIR) across Pos Hau, Pos Balar, Pos Belatim, and Pos Bihai.

Mohd Syahbuddin also noted that the programme addresses critical infrastructure issues, such as rural access roads in Kampung Sempadik and the construction of multipurpose halls in Pos Balar and Kampung Tapai, Pos Hau. A proposal for establishing a rural health clinic in Pos Balar is under consideration. Six series of the programme are planned, culminating with the Malaysia Day celebration at the Kuala Betis Resettlement Scheme (RPS) on September 16.
